Headlight Restoration
6 products
Are your headlights dull, worn, yellow and weathered? Then your headlights need a headlight restoration to put them back in new condition. Headlamps endure over the years because of use and the UV rays of the sun. Without protection, they will therefore look worn and weathered. Here you can find all the products you need to restore them and make them look clean and new again. In this way you improve the light output and the brightness of the light, so that your vision is also improved in the dark. Your headlights must therefore achieve a certain light output, because otherwise they will be rejected at the inspection.
To restore your headlights you need sandpaper, polishing paste and polishing pads required. You can buy all these items separately from us. But there are also full sets. If the headlights are not very weathered, it is sometimes sufficient to polish only to improve visibility. But in general, we always recommend sanding to remove as many scratches, minor stone chips, oxidation, etc. as possible. This will give you the best result. We always start with sanding. Depending on how badly the headlights have been worn, you can sand in 1 to 4 steps. In the best case scenario, you can quickly sand with a P3000 or P3500. In severe cases you should start at P1000 and then P1500 followed by P2000 and P3000 or P3500 sandpaper.
After that you will polish the headlights. If you do this with a polisher and a polishing pad, this is of course much faster than by hand. Some also like to use a handy adapter that allows you to place your polishing pad on a manual backing plate can fix so that it polishes more easily. There are also special polishes for headlights, although traditional compound and polish also work if they have the right size.
It is always wise to protect the headlights after sanding and polishing. This allows you to ensure that the headlights no longer endure so quickly, so that you do not have to do a headlight restoration every so often. Some headlights also have a certain UV-resistant top coating. So when you sand and or polish the headlight because they are worn, this coating is also removed and they will fade back faster. It is therefore self-evident that you can never continue to restore headlights indefinitely. At a certain moment the material will run out so that you cannot do a headlight restoration again.
