Polishing Agent & Polishing Paste

Good polish & polishing paste is crucial for a detailer. With this you can get the biggest improvements on a car and completely transform it. You can use it to change the paint from dull, oxidized and full of scratches to a showroom shine with amazing reflection! How much shine, reflection and depth you can get and how fast depends on the quality of your polishing agent and polishing paste. In addition to other factors, of course, such as the use of a polisher or not, which one polishing pads you use and your technique.
There are several different types of polishing agents. You also have polish with cleaning properties and which contain wax or silicone to camouflage scratches. But these are all in one polishes, we also offer these. Same with metallic polish en Glass Polish. But these are completely different polishing agents. Here we focus on the compounds and polishes as they are also known. Specifically developed for paint correction.
You have polishing agent & polishing paste that have ordinary polishing grains. These polishing grains abrade the surface at a microscopic level and thus remove paint defects. In addition, there are also diminishing abrasive polishing grains. These polishing grains start as large coarse grains but when they are processed during polishing they break down and become smaller and finer. This polishing paste then generally finishes better as it has a finer finish than the polishing grain, which does not become finer. In general, this also ensures that the polishing grain that does not become finer has more cutting power because it remains just as coarse. So you will do more correction at a certain time than the diminishing abrasive. But this is not always necessary of course.
If you can remove your paint defects with the right combination of polishing pads and technique, it is more convenient if the grain is refined in such a way that you have to do less after correction to achieve maximum shine. Both of course have advantages and have a place in the detailing world.
In addition, there are also the one-step polishes. In principle, any polishing agent & polishing paste can be a one-step polish. But these one step polishes have been developed in such a way that they have diminishing abrasives and a long working time so that you can generally always use them and get fantastic results. They have good cutting power and a very nice finish, making them a fixture for every detailer.
What we do think is important is that you have a polishing agent that creates little or no dust during polishing. You will therefore almost only find polishing agents with us that are extremely user-friendly and do not create annoying dust. Of course, almost all polishing agents create dust. But some brands that we have already tested over the years make so much dust that you can hardly do anything but wash the car with a car shampoo after every polishing. This should not be the intention. The polishes that we offer generally (almost) do not have this.
In addition, it is also important to us that they do not have fillers. Fillers mask the paint defects and ensure that you cannot do a really efficient paint correction. This is something you want to avoid with a polish. You can find this in an all in one polish. Hence, in our opinion, they deserve a completely different category.
It is also important that the polishes are of course easy to wipe off. It is extremely tedious and exhausting to polish and scrub an entire car with microfibre cloths to remove the remaining residue. This can also cause you to scratch again because you have to apply so much pressure and rub so much to get the excess off. That is why the polishes that we offer are generally easy to remove with a microfibre cloth. You can always have another isopropyl panel degreaser to make taking it even easier. But in general this is not necessary. There are some polishes when they are worked for a very long time or used in bad conditions that they are a little more difficult to remove. But even then, these are considerably easier than other brands that we have already tested.
If you do not know which polishing agent & polishing paste you need at this point, this is understandable. You can never say with certainty in advance which polish you will need for your car. Even professional detailers never know this with 100% certainty. In general you can say that if you have deep paint defects that you need a coarse polishing paste to remove the paint defects. And a fine polish to refine afterwards so that you have a nice deep shine again. Or if your paint doesn't look too bad, you can sometimes just use a finishing polish to quickly give the paint more shine and reflection. Is it something in between or do you have more defects and do you want to quickly make a proper correction and have a good shine? Then you can also take a one-step polish. You can (almost) never go wrong with this.
However, a misjudgment that people make, even professional detailers think that the polish & polishing compound is the most important during a paint correction. They think this determines how much paint correction you will do. However, this is not true. The biggest influence in how much paint correction you will do and how much shine you will get are polishing pads. If you need more cutting power, it is better to get a coarser polishing pad than to buy a coarser compound. The same if you want more shine. It is better to buy a finer and softer polishing pad than to take a fine finishing polish.
Of course you don't necessarily need 10 different polishes. In principle, professional detailers often only use 4 different polishes. They have an all-in-one polish for customers who quickly want a little more shine and who do not have too much budget. Then we have a one step polish for when you want to do 1 step paint correction. With this you can get good results on almost every car. And finally a coarse compound to remove deep paint defects and get a finishing polish for maximum shine.
What is always important before you do a paint correction is to always ensure that the paint is completely clean by washing it with a car shampoo and you 2 emmer method. Then it is best to remove the embedded iron particles and tar with a iron remover and an tar remover. Finally, it is always very useful to have a clay treatment to remove the last contaminants from the paint. If you don't do this, dirt, iron particles and tar will be released during polishing and you sometimes even make more damage and you can never achieve an optimal result!
So you can see that a polishing agent & polishing paste is not as one-sided as often expected. Fortunately, we always have a wide range of the best brands and the best polishing agent & polishing paste in stock!
