Sealant & Spray Coating products are nowadays hardly distinguishable from each other. Today, the technology around ceramic protection has already developed so much that it is no longer a complex consumable and not so expensive. A sealant is a synthetic wax protection. This was used before the technology of ceramic protection existed when you wanted paint protection but didn't want to wax your car every month. A sealant is often more durable than a traditional car wax. But this had the disadvantage that it was slightly more expensive and also had slightly less good performance. It gave less shine and reflection and the water and dirt repellent properties were not as good as a wax.
Today, this industry has developed so much that all these concepts no longer fully apply. Nowadays they mainly make a sealant in spray form instead of a liquid product. If we are going to compare a spray sealant or a spray coating with a spray wax then the spray sealant or the spray coating is of course more durable than the spray wax. Do you still want a liquid product? Then you can look at the liquid car wax. This often has incorporated ceramic protection, so that you still get good durability from your protection and you also have good water and dirt-repellent properties! Then you can simply maintain it with a Sealant & Spray Coating.
This is the main reason for which the Sealant & Spray Coating is used. It is not often used as a product on its own. You can sometimes apply a basic protective layer to a dry car with a sealant or spray coating and then just maintain it. But mainly people and detailers use sealants and spray coatings as a protective layer for the paint protection that they have placed. This can range from a simple wax to a long one coating. By giving the paint protection an extra protective layer with the sealant or spray coating, you extend the life of the protection and ensure that it continues to perform optimally.
You can use a sealant & spray coating very easily as a maintenance product. You simply wash your car with a pH neutral car shampoo and you 2 emmer method. Then you spray the car with water and you can apply 2 to 3 sprays per panel with the sealant or spray coating. Quickly rub the product with a microfibre cloth, and finished! In this way you have quickly applied a protection and you can enjoy maximum shine and reflection of your paint. It also ensures that the paint becomes water and dirt repellent, so that the car will stay clean longer and is also easier to clean. This is because the dirt cannot adhere to the surfaces, so it stays clean for longer. If he does get a little dirty and it rains just as well, he may even be a lot cleaner after that. When you eventually wash the car, you will notice that the dirt comes off much more easily.
In addition to a maintenance product, you can also use a sealant & spray coating on its own. It also has fantastic properties in itself such as the extra shine and reflection and also ensures that the surfaces become water and dirt repellent. You can apply it perfectly just like you would with a maintenance service by simply spraying a few times on a wet car. But for optimal performance, it is best to wash the car completely as before. And then dry the car with a drying towel. Then apply the sealant or spray coating to a dry surface in crisscross movements with a applicator or microfibre cloth and wipe off the excess. Then try to keep the paint dry for as long as possible, up to 24 hours if possible. That way you can let the coating dry well and adhere to the paint.
If you want even better performance from your sealant & spray coating, you can also make the paint as clean and glass as possible. You do this by removing iron particles with a iron remover and remove tar stains with a tar remover. Then you can apply the paint again clay treatment to remove the last dirt from the paint. Finally, you can degrease the paint with a isopropyl degreaser if you really want to go to the extreme. Then you can apply the sealant or spray coating to a dry paint in crisscross movements. This is only for when no protection has yet been applied to the paint. If you do this treatment on a car that already has a protective layer, you will partially or even completely remove it.
The durability of a sealant & spray coating is often around 6 months. Depending on which application method you use and in which conditions the sealant & spray coating has to handle.
