Gtechniq Ceramic GWash

Gtechniq Ceramic GWash

Gtechniq just launched a new product. Namely the Gtechniq Ceramic GWash, a pH neutral shampoo with ceramic protection. With the Gtechniq Ceramic GWash you can be sure that you have a high quality pH neutral shampoo that works perfectly on cars with or without protection.

Although you will notice that the Gtechniq Ceramic GWash does not foam, it does not take away from the normal GWash cleaning properties. It is just as safe for the paint and it will glide your wash glove on your car at least as well. Because a ceramic protection has been added to the shampoo, the SiO2 components of the protection ensure that you cannot make foam in the shampoo.

What you will notice is that the Gtechniq Ceramic GWash does make slightly more dry spots during the wash compared to the regular GWash. We said in our blog about the new version of GWash all that the dry spots are due to the protection that is on the car and thus repel the shampoo and water. Since the Ceramic GWash also does the cleaning and protection in 1 product, this also provides an enormous water-repellent surface, which means you get more dry spots again.

However, there is no reason to panic. The ceramic components that are in the Ceramic GWash also ensure that this is an extremely slippery shampoo. As we already know, one of the biggest reasons that laundry scratches occur during the wash is the use of a bad shampoo. We have also explained this in our blog about why you should not use detergent as shampoo† Reasons for this include that you need the right formula to loosen the grime on cars, avoid using chemicals that are harmful and good lubricant.

Because the Ceramic GWash has ceramic components, it ensures that it glides so well over the paint that the risk of wax scratches is reduced to an absolute minimum. If you don't feel comfortable with it, you can always choose the normal one GWash and then apply a protection with, for example, the Gtechniq Easy Coat of Gtechniq C2 Liquid Crystal† The Gtechniq Ceramic Gwash simply ensures that if you want to apply protection quickly and effortlessly due to time constraints, you can do this while you wash the car.

Because the Ceramic GWash also provides extra protection, this is also an ideal solution if you already have protection on the car. The added ceramic protection of the Ceramic GWash ensures that the underlying protection is better protected and will also last longer. The overlying protection will first disappear due to the influence of weather, sun, dirt, chemicals, and so on. This means that the underlying protection has to endure less, which means that the lifespan is longer.

It can of course also be used on cars that do not yet have protection for when you would like to protect your paint. Ceramic GWash can provide up to 3 months of protection depending on the conditions in which it is used. For example, when you wash your car with aggressive chemicals, your car is constantly outside in wind and weather, you drive many kilometers per day, etc. are circumstances that will limit the lifespan which is the case with all types of protection from all detailing brands.

If you want to apply as much protection as possible with the Ceramic GWash, it is best that you wash your car first with Ceramic GWash and the 2 emmer method as usual. Then rinse the car well and apply some Ceramic GWash directly to the wash glove and thus re-treated the surfaces. Then rinse the car thoroughly again with cold water.

When you wash your car with the Ceramic GWash, you will also notice that there is a measuring cup on the cap of the bottle. You can use this measuring cup so that you use the right amount of product when you wash. Gtechniq recommends using 20ml of shampoo per 10L of water. This is about half of the normal GWash, so you will also notice that the Ceramic GWash will last longer. Since it is also a more expensive product, this is of course a nice bonus.

Gtechniq Ceramic GWash

As should be known Gtechniq to the top of the world in the field of high-quality detailing products. They are certainly ahead of many other brands on the market when it comes to ceramic protection. Gtechniq continuously strives to bring out the best product on the market. While many other brands already had a ceramic shampoo, Gtechniq has continued to develop and test the Ceramic GWash until they are sure they can release the best product on the market.

Ceramic GWash has been tested against their competing brand and continued to develop until they had the right formula that works better than the competition. Ceramic GWash achieved better results in terms of water contact angle, oil contact angle and surface free energy.

The water contact angle test is probably the most important test for a shampoo with protection in 1 product. This measures the water-repellent properties of the ceramic shampoo by measuring the angle at which the water droplets are formed. The tighter the water droplets, which means the higher the contact angle. The more water repellent the product is. In the chemical industry, it is established that a water contact angle of 90° or higher is hydrophobic. Gtechniq Ceramic GWash achieved a contact angle of 100° here while the competitor achieved 89°.

The same is done with oils. As is known, oil is lighter than water, so oil floats on top of water when it gets mixed. As a result, the contact angles with oil are also lower than with water. However, the theory remains the same. If the contact angle is larger, the oil will be less able to adhere to the surface. As a result, it will also clean better and keep the surface cleaner when confronted with oil and road grime. Gtechniq Ceramic Gwash has an oil contact angle of 80° while the competitor only achieved 54°.

Finally, there is the surface-free energy test. This is partly related to the other 2 tests since higher contact angles provide less surface energy. The surface-free energy test determines how smooth and water and dirt repellent the surface is after using the shampoo. The less surface energy there is, the more difficult dirt will adhere to the surface and the easier the dirt will come off when you wash your car.

A car without protection has a surface energy of about 40 miliNewton per meter (mNm) compared to, for example, a non-stick pan has a surface energy of 16 mNm. Ceramic GWash achieved a result of 20 mNm here, which means that it is classified as amphiphilic. It repels both water and oil. The competition only achieved a score of 34 mNm, which means that they are considerably less dirt and water repellent than Gtechniq and will therefore become dirty again faster.

These results therefore confirm that Gtechniq Ceramic GWash will not only clean better, but it will also keep your car cleaner for longer and better.
