Sandpaper is a necessity for any detailer who likes to take their detailing to the next level. There are certain paint defects that can only be removed with sandpaper. Just think of orange peel, dust, fish eye, etc. Not only that, but also headlights are significantly better and faster to repair by using sandpaper!
Sandpaper is able to remove structure, which is not possible with a polishing pad en polishing paste in that the polishing pad will always bend to the shape of the structure instead of removing the structure. Sandpaper is also generally coarser, so you can remove paint defects faster than with a polishing pad and polishing paste. This saves you time and resources and you often get a better result.
Good sandpaper is also very important. Many think that this is simply a coarse piece of paper. But nothing is less true. Sandpaper does have a difference in quality. For example, the durability of quality sandpaper is so much better that the sandpaper is perhaps twice as expensive as the cheap sandpaper. But the high-quality sandpaper can sometimes last up to 6 times as long, making it cheaper in total by taking quality.
In addition, the grains are also more evenly distributed over the sandpaper. It is a uniform layer of all exactly the same grains, which creates a very clean and even sanding structure. Cheap sandpaper almost always has grains that differ in size and do not all break down in the same way and at the same time, causing the sanding pattern to be different. As a result, you spend longer refining and you can sometimes still see sanding marks when you switch to a softer sandpaper. This again costs time and money!
The release of its dust is also different between cheap sandpaper and high-quality sandpaper. Cheap sandpaper does not remove its dust well, which causes accumulations and you get pig tails in the sanding pattern, for example, which means you have to refine it for longer. Cheap sandpaper is also thinner and made of cheaper material so that sometimes even the velcro of the back plate from the shed or polisher structure creates by the sandpaper or even pierce it, causing damage! Because it is cheaper material and cheaper, it is often much less suitable for use in wet sanding, also known as wet sanding.
These are just a few reasons why you need sandpaper and why it is best to opt for quality sandpaper such as the sandpaper we offer. We could go on and on about the "simple" sandpaper for hours. But from our training, research and years of experience we have already learned that it is best not to look at the few cents difference between cheap and quality. It saves you money, time and frustration by simply choosing quality sandpaper from the first time!
